Unfortunately, because of Covid the School Council haven’t been able to meet up in person this year. However we have had our first Zoom meeting attended by the KS2 school council representatives. It was an opportunity for the KS2 reps to come together as a council.
As we near the Christmas holidays, children will be at home for two weeks maybe accessing the internet. The internet can be a wonderful place to learn, play games and talk to friends. However, we all need to be mindful of the dangers.
Our school council representatives have also been designing online safety posters to remind everyone to be aware of the many dangers that are out there. The council representatives will be giving their classes talks to remind everyone to stay safe and be aware, when accessing the internet.
Agenda for January 2021.
On behalf of the school council, I’d like to wish everyone a safe and peaceful Christmas.
Each year voting takes place in every classroom for the children who wish to campaign to be elected for the School Council. These children will represent the views of all pupils and their aim is to improve the school.
The School Council plays a very important role in our School life. They attend regular meetings and discuss important issues which may affect the pupils, staff and parents of St Francis and the surrounding community. When necessary, the Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson often put forward a motion to the other Councillors to invite visitors to the meetings to discuss particular projects. Minutes are recorded by the elected Council Secretary.
