Numeracy

Our Maths Learning Journey!

Take a look at our Autumn learning!

We started by looking at the story of Anno's Counting Book. We made our own towns for each number. We then focused on the composition of each number. Throughout our learning, we have looked at different stories to match the numbers we have looked at. We have read Pete's four groovy buttons, Kipper's fifth birthday and I Spy Numbers! We are super mathematicians and we can recognise numbers, represent numbers and show what 1 more and 1 less is! We have also looked at repeating patterns and we have made these with potato printing, our fruit during snack time and with our compare bears! During Autumn, some children have been able to use natural resources to do this too!

We have focused on finding matching objects and making our own repeating patterns (We did this with buttons, fruit, potato printing and musical instruments).

Numeracy

Learning about Numeracy in the early years includes 'Number' where children will learn skills such as number recognition, counting and calculating. It also includes 'Shape, Space and Measure' where children learn about shape, size, weight, position, distance, money and time
